SHORTCOMINGS IN TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING TRAINING AT HONG DUC UNIVERSITY: PERSPECTIVES OF LECTURERS AND STUDENTS

Abstract
This study evaluates the conditions of translation and interpreting training at Hong Duc University, focusing on promoting learner competence and developing students' professional skills. The research was conducted with 121 English-majored students at Hong Duc University. Data were collected through surveys and observations. The results indicate that translation and interpreting training at Hong Duc University faces several shortcomings, including a lack of facilities, insufficient teaching equipment, and limited opportunities for practice and professional training.
