Abstract

This study aims to find out English-speaking strategies used by high school students in rural areas (level II) in Thanh Hoa province. Data collected from a survey of 626 students in grades 10, 11, and 12, along with interviews of 24 students from these grades, shows that the students generally used metacognitive strategies most frequently and social strategies least frequently. In addition, there is no significant difference in the use of English-speaking strategies by students in grades 10, 11, and 12.
