Main Article Content
Abstract
Hibiscus sabdariffa L., Malvaceae, originates from West Africa. Its leaves and calyxes are used as food and medicine, primarily for treating liver and gallbladder diseases, high blood pressure, nervous disorders, reducing blood lipids, diuretic and choleretic effects, aiding digestion, beautifying the skin, and possessing anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Differences between the experimental and control varieties in stem color, flower color, calyx color, and sepals are distinguishing traits with taxonomic value for [identifying] varieties (var.) and species (sp.). Uniformity was confirmed with off-type plants below 1% of off- type plants, is considered. The BTB1 variety demonstrates significant distinctness, high uniformity, and stability across testing seasons.
