Abstract

The ethanol extract ofHelicteres hirsuta L., was collected in Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province, o f which three compounds were isolated: oleanolic acid (1), 18a-oleanolic acid (2) and stigmasterol (3). The structures o f these compounds have been elucidated by spectroscopic methods: MS, JH-NMR, 13C-NMR, DEPT. The results show that compound 1 has moderate antioxidant activeness. This is the first study o f the chemical constituents o f the Ba Thuoc, Thanh Hoa Helicteres hirsuta L.
