Abstract
Hybrid polymer composite materials are polymer-based materials using two or more reinforcing agents, they are a new type o f material and have attracted much attention from scientists. Polyamide 610 composites with nanosilica additives and glass fiber reinforcement were prepared via melting mixing method by using Haake equipment. In this study, the influence o f glass fiber (GF) content on some properties o f PA610/nanosilica (PA6Ỉ0/NS) composites was investigated. The mechanical properties (tensile strength, elongation at break, elastic modules and impact strength) and water absorption capacity o f composites were determined. The thermal stability o f the composites was determined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results showed that the tensile strength o f composite materials reached the highest value with using 30% glass fiber content. The tensile strength, elastic modulus and impact strength o f PA610/NS/GF increased by 91.57%, 50.32%) and 20.44%, respectively, compared to those of PA6Ỉ0/NS sample. Meanwhile, the water absorption capacity of PA610/NS/GF gradually decreased as the GF content increased. At 30% GF content, the thermal stability of PA610/NS/GF composite was significantly improved compared to PA6Ỉ0/NS, the increase in decomposition onset temperature was 38.29"€. PA610/NS/GF composites had high mechanical properties and high thermal stability, which are suitable for manufacturing components and products for defense and aviation applications.
