Abstract

The article studies the competitiveness of the stone industry in Thanh Hoa city based on the comparison two of districts of Yen Dinh and Ngoc Lac. Stone mining and exporting enterprises in Thanh Hoa city have competitive advantages in terms of product quality, consumption markets and export opportunities, however, in the process of shifting to exploiting raw materials in the districts, in the province due to the shrinking mining resources, high transportation costs due to non-centralized mining. The solution to improve the competitiveness of stone mining and exporting enterprises in Thanh Hoa city is: Getting permission for quarries located in near districts of the city, such as Dong Son, Ha Trung, and Bim Son; Improving the level of human resources; Upgrading mining technology and replacing some types of raw stone with export stone.
