Abstract

Thanh Hoa is the 6th largest province in the country. The territory of the province is like a miniature Vietnam with hills and mountains in the west, midlands and plains in the middle and coastal areas in the east. The large area with many types of terrain has created climate differentiation in Thanh Hoa province. This differentiation is not the same between the midland and the mountainous and coastal regions. This article studies the principles and criteria for climate zoning and climate differentiation in Thanh Hoa province based on investigating climate data of many years combined with the knowledge of current climate zoning methods in Vietnam. Thanh Hoa cliamte is divided into 3 regions with 9 sub-regions. This result can be used to develop plans and strategies for socio-economic development, natural disaster prevention for localities and especially agricultural production.
