Abstract
Supermarket is a modern form of retail that has appeared since the 1990s of the 20th century in Vietnam. The role of the supermarket network in our country is to provide a civilized consumption space with a diversified structure of goods and good product quality to bring convenience to customers. The development of supermarket network is influenced by many factors: economic development and national economic policy; population size, structure and income; urbanization and industrial lifestyle; international economic integration and foreign investment, socio-cultural factors, local supply chain factors,etc. On the basis of an overview of some common supermarket issues, the study evaluates the conditions for developing supermarket network in Thanh Hoa province. The study also proposes a number of solutions to contribute to effectively expanding and exploiting the supermarket network in Thanh Hoa in the future.
