Abstract

The results of the study have determined the density and number of suitable plants for the Sao Vang rice variety in the spring season of 2021 in Thanh Hoa. The experiment was arranged in a large plot - small plot (split-plot) style, including 12 treatments with 3 repetitions. This included an experiment on planting density with 4 levels: M1: 40 clusters/m2; M2: 45 clusters/m2; M3: 50 clusters/m2; M4: 55 clusters/m2, and an experiment on the number of plants (D) consisting of 3 levels: D1: 1 plant/cluster; D2: 2 plants/cluster; and D3: 3 plants/cluster. The results showed that the Sao Vang rice variety in the spring season should be transplanted at a density of 45 clusters/m2 with 2 plants/cluster to promote optimal growth, development, and highest yield. The total growth time is 125 days, the plant height is 96.2 cm, the number of effective branches is 6.9 branches/cluster, the actual yield is 7.24 tons/ha, and the net profit is 21,816 million VND/ha/season. These density and plant number findings are applicable in the local area and areas with similar conditions.
