Abstract
The medicinal resources of our country are relatively abundant, but they are at risk of significant decline due to excessive exploitation. Regeneration and cultivation of medicinal plants are not sufficient to compensate for this. Therefore, the conservation of genetic resources, traditional medicinal plant varieties, and the experience of using medicinal plants and remedies of the 54 ethnic groups are highly necessary. Cam Thuy district is one of the districts with a large population of the Muong ethnic group in the province. Preserving the knowledge of medicinal plant use and remedies is a very important task. The results of collecting medicinal plants and remedies in the district show that in 3 communes with a dominant Muong ethnic population, there are 14 folk remedies that are widely circulated and used, focusing on diseases related to the liver, kidneys, and digestion.
There are 29 species of medicinal plants commonly used in folk remedies, with diversity in life forms, with herbaceous plants accounting for 48% and woody plants for 34%.
