Abstract
Studies o f the flora system in Mieng mountain, Phuc Thinh commune, Ngoc Lac district, Thanh Hoa province show that there are 117 species belonging to 98 genera o f 47 families; in which Magnoliophyta is the most diverse, repesenting 87.23% o f the families, 92.86% o f the genera and 91.45% o f the total species, other divisions account fo r negligible percentage. The flora system in this area represented o f 17 out o f 20 geographical factors o f the flora in Vietnam, o f which geographical element o f tropical Asia account for the highest percentage (21.37%)). The Spectrum o f Biology (SB) o f the flora in Mieng was summarized as follows: 53.45% Ph +12.93% Ch + 15.52% He + 9.48% Cr + 8.62% Th. Medicinal plant species in the Mieng mountain dominate with 67 species (accounting fo r 41.36%). The distribution o f plant species is not uniform at the altitudes, the highest number o f species at the lowest altitude and the lowest number o f species at the mountain peak.
