Abstract

Southern Confucian scholars in the second half of the 19th century used a variety of poems, especially ancient poems, Duong luat poetry and a number of other forms of poetry that are compact, tight, up to date, topical; couplets and mainstream essays with artistic values, sharp, coherent and eloquent arguments and effective use of rhetorical measures, helping the confucianist to express his feelings to the loyal people in the South; narrative prose and some ethnic literary genres have their own advantages in reflecting the rich, diverse reality and explaining many issues of the time, contributing to depicting the image of the faithful man.
