Abstract
The experiment was conducted on 2 breeds: Ri Dabaco chichken and Yellow leg chicken raised by free grazing method using commercial food in Thanh Hoa province to evaluate growth performance and carcass characteristics. The results showed that the survival rate of Ri Dabaco chicken and Yellow leg chicken were high, from 94% to 97%.
The body weight at 14 weeks of age slaughter of Yellow leg chicken was higher than Ri Dabaco: 2852.97 g/head and 2655.14 g/head, respectively. FCR in stage 0-14 weeks of age of Ri Dabaco and Yellow leg chicken were 3.69 kg and 3.70 kg, respectively. The dressing ratio, thigh ratio, breast ratio of Yellow leg chicken were 73.65%; 21.70% and 24.41% which were higher than those of Ri Dabaco: 70.79%; 19.71% and 22.11%.
