Abstract

Building an ecological farming model that synthesizes rice - fish - duck on low-lying land, is one of the farming models in the direction of sustainable development, through reducing the generation of pests harming rice and integrated pest management. The release of ducks and fish into rice fields has a positive effect on the growth, development, productivity and economic efficiency of rice plants on low-lying rice land of Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province: Growth time , development through several stages and some indicators such as number of main leaves/ stem, length of leaf, length of cotton of rice varieties have little difference compared to varieties of the same type when monoculturing of rice. The parameters of plant height, maximum number of branches/ clump of rice varieties in the experimantal formula were higher than the same variety in the control formula. Reducing the generation and damage of pests and yellow snails to rice plants.
Having a positive impact on the factors constituting yield and rice yield between the experimental formula and the control formula. The model of ecological farming of rice - fish - duck increased the economic efficiency clearly compared to the geographic location. Net profit reached 114.63 million VND/ha/year compared with rice monoculture of 44.72 million VND/ ha/ year, an increase of 2.56 times. MRR and MBCR indicators are significant (MRR = 116 and MBCR = 2.16).
