SYNTHESIS AND DETERMINATION OF THE STRUCTURE OF SOME CARBOXYLIC ACIDS CONTAINING BENZOTHIAZOLE
FROM AROMATIC ALDEHYD
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper, three carboxylic acids 7A1, 7A2, 7B1 containing benzothiazole heterocycles were successfully synthesized from the starting materials 4-hydroxylbenzaldehyde and vanilline through 6 reaction steps. In particular, the benzothiazole ring-closing step assisted by microwave irradiation shortened the reaction time and improved the reaction efficiency. The structure of carboxylic acids is accurately determined by modern spectroscopic methods such as IR, NMR and MS.
Keywords
