DEVELOPING AND VALIDATING A FRAMEWORK FOR ASSESSING DEBATE SKILLS of 5–6-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN BASED ON A CHILD PARTICIPATION RIGHTS APPROACH
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to develop and pilot a set of criteria for assessing debate skills among 5–6-year-old children based on a child participation rights approach, contributing to the innovation of assessment practices in the context of digital transformation in early childhood education. Drawing on studies of children's participation rights, argumentation in early childhood, developmental characteristics of preschool children, and current trends in educational digital transformation, the study proposes a framework consisting of five criteria and twenty-five indicators. The framework was validated through expert review, content validity indices (CVR/CVI), reliability testing, and piloted with 80 preschool children. The results indicate that the framework is scientifically grounded, appropriate, feasible, and reliable. In addition, its structured and quantifiable design enables the digitalization of assessment data, supports the development of electronic child portfolios, and facilitates data-driven monitoring of children's development. The findings provide a scientific basis for innovating child assessment practices at the local level in response to ongoing educational digital transformation.
