Abstract

This paper proposes a five-step process for designing experiential learning activities in teaching statistics and probability in Grade 2 Mathematics with the aim of developing students' mathematical competence. The novelty of the study lies in clarifying the relationship between the proposed design process and Kolb's experiential learning cycle, while introducing a rubric for assessing students' mathematical competence. The results of a teacher survey indicate that the proposed process is both appropriate and feasible for classroom implementation. The study provides a practical reference for primary school teachers in designing experiential learning activities and suggests that further classroom experiments are needed to validate its effectiveness.
