DEVELOP SPEAKING AND LISTENING SKILLS FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN READING CLASSROOM

Abstract
Speaking and listening are two of the four core skills that Language Arts is responsible for developing in students. According to the 2018 Language Arts General Education Program, speaking and listening skills are not only taught in speaking and listening classroom but are also required to be integrated in reading and writing classrooms. Reading classroom mainly develops reading skill but is also a favorable environment to develop speaking and listening skills for students. In reality, teachers do not pay enough attention to integrating the development of speaking and listening skills for students during reading classroom. Based on speaking and listening teaching theory and 2018 textbooks and program of Language Arts, this article proposes integrated goals, integrated content, and integrated measures to develop speaking and listening skills for high school students in reading classroom.
