Abstract

In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the national digital transformation strategy, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into higher education constitutes not merely a technological trend but also an urgent imperative for the fundamental innovation of teaching methods. This paper analyzes the current status of AI application in Vietnamese higher education institutions, elucidating the breakthrough opportunities AI offers, such as personalized learning paths and task automation. Simultaneously, it identifies critical challenges regarding digital infrastructure, academic ethics, and the gap in digital pedagogical competence. Consequently, the study proposes synchronous solutions ranging from perfecting the legal framework and investing in digital ecosystems to redefining the role of the teacher. It asserts that lecturers' digital competence is the pivotal factor enabling AI to serve as an effective lever in the new era.
