THE INNOVATION-DRIVEN UNIVERSITY MODEL AS A KNOWLEDGE CONNECTIVITY SPACE IN THE DIGITAL ERA

Abstract
In the digital era, higher education is undergoing a profound transformation driven by the development of the knowledge economy, digital technologies, and innovation ecosystems. This study aims to clarify the theoretical foundations of the Innovation-Driven University Model from the perspectives of innovation ecosystems and knowledge connectivity spaces. Using document analysis, synthesis, comparative analysis, and a systems approach, the paper examines the role of knowledge connectivity spaces in fostering education, research, innovation, and knowledge transfer within higher education institutions. The findings indicate that an innovation-driven university is not merely characterized by the adoption of digital technologies but by its capacity to create an open knowledge environment that enables multi-stakeholder collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous innovation. In this context, knowledge connectivity space functions as a form of soft infrastructure that links universities, enterprises, government agencies, and communities in the processes of knowledge creation, dissemination, and application. Based on theoretical analysis and the current context of higher education in Vietnam, the paper proposes several solutions to promote the development of the Innovation-Driven University Model in the context of digital transformation and international integration.
