Abstract

In the context of implementing the 2018 General Education Curriculum associated with digital transformation, fostering qualities, civic awareness, and legal behavior among high school students has posed new requirements for the teaching of Economic and Legal Education. Role-model education based on Ho Chi Minh’s thought is considered a sustainable educational principle that contributes to behavioral orientation through the consistency between words and actions. Using a theoretical research approach, this paper clarifies the concept of role-model education and its necessity in teaching this subject in the digital environment. On that basis, the paper proposes several solutions, including promoting teachers’ exemplary roles, integrating real-life and cyberspace situations into lesson content, organizing experiential learning activities, and enhancing behavior-oriented assessment. In addition, the paper suggests several specific teaching activities aimed at developing students’ behavioral adjustment competence, competence in participating in socio-economic activities, and digital citizenship awareness.
