REVIEW OF THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS 1948: VALUES AND LIMITATIONS

Abstract
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, stands as a landmark document for the establishment of international human rights standards. Since its inception, however, the debates have continued on whether the declaration is truly idealistic and comprehensive or whether it remains limited and falls short of its intended goals. This essay will delve into both sides of the issue, aiming to shed light on the values and limitations of this historic Declaration.
