Abstract

STEAM education, an advanced teaching method that integrates the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, has been proven advantageous worldwide. It aligns well with current Preschool Education Programs, meeting the requirements of integrated thematic education, student-centered teaching, and the goal of developing essential skills, positive thinking, and problem-solving abilities. The research is conducted to clarify the nature, significance, and characteristics of STEAM education. This understanding will enable the application of STEAM education in organizing environmental exploration activities for 5 - 6 year-olds, enriching the learning experience with STEAM education data. This effort contributes to achieving the goals of the current Preschool Education Program, meeting the requirements for innovation in education, and aligning with societal development trends.
