Abstract
This article studies the roles, functions and meaning of studying profiles. Futhermore, it also guides teachers to facilitate students to build up and use one type of studying profiles. It is a target profile. On the basis of that, the article illustrates a demonstration of designing and using the target profile in teaching reading comprehension in modern Vietnamese stories to the 9th graders.
