Abstract

In the context of digital transformation, innovating teaching methods for National Defense and Security Education is a pressing requirement. This study employed a mixed-methods approach, surveying 342 lecturers across 35 universities nationwide. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, and independent samples t-tests were conducted to compare military and civilian lecturers.

Although lecturers utilize a variety of teaching methods, traditional lecturing remains dominant. Active pedagogical approaches, such as project-based learning and role-playing, are implemented on a limited basis due to barriers related to time constraints, infrastructural limitations, and the specific characteristics of the military environment. Furthermore, statistically significant differences were found in the application levels of certain teaching methods between the two groups of lecturers.

The study provides empirical evidence to support the improvement of National Defense and Security Education teaching methods amidst the digital transformation, ultimately aiming to enhance overall course effectiveness.
