Abstract

      Grounded in the psychoanalytic theories of Freud and Jung, this study unfolds an exploration of artistic imagery in poetry through three dimensions: the personal unconscious, the collective unconscious, and the superego. From these vantage points, the poetic images in Le Khanh Mai’s work are refracted through a renewed lens-one that delves into the profound depths of the inner self, intricately bound to the life and destiny of the poetess. Her poetry emerges not only as a personal utterance but also as the crystallization of a collective consciousness and the embodiment of noble spiritual ideals. Placed under the light of psychoanalysis, this research seeks to affirm the unique value of women’s poetry within the discourse of modern literature, where individual voices resonate with timeless depths of the human spirit.
